Speaker

The following are criteria to assist in preparing for a possible
presentation with SeaSPIN. If you have further questions, please
contact our Vice
President of Programs at programs@seattleispi.org.
- Your biography of 100 words or less and
presentation
abstract of 200 words or less should be submitted to the Program Chair
and President two weeks prior to the presentation date. This allows us
to announce the upcoming presentation online and at various local
events.
- Think about the audience when creating
your
presentation, title, and abstract. Our audience is broad, including
managers, coaches, trainers, consultants, students, academia, and more.
Make the title attractive and not too obscure... and keep the abstract
practical.
- At least 1 week before the presentation,
the
presenter should supply any special requirements for the presentation.
VGA Projector and white boards are already available.
- Presentations should be limited to 1
hour in length.
- Presenter should be prepared for a 30
minute Q&A
period following the presentation. Alternatively, the speaker may
encourage a more interactive session also.
- The presentation should be educational
or hands-on and devoid of business advertising or sales content.
- The intent is to provide ideas and
content usable by
our audience in the course of their work or to provide techniques that
do not involve additional purchases.
- The presenter should provide a copy of
the presentation slides for publishing on the website, ideally in PDF
form.
- From time to time, the board may seek to
create
alternative formats - such as panel discussions or joint meetings - so
this document provides the standard format for typical presentations.
